Learning to Read Music Notes is the Essential First Step in Becoming a Musician.
If you donīt know the note names without hesitation, you canīt communicate with other musicians and you canīt progress.
For example, how will you communicate with your music teacher? Will you point to the note on the music staff? If someone tells you that the Perfect 5th of C Major is G, will you know which note they are referring to? If your teacher tells you to play C, E, G & B flat (C Major 7th Chord) will you know what to do?
The first step to learning and understanding harmony (the pathway to composition and improvisation) is to learn Music Intervals and Chords which are defined by their note names.
